The Beginning
Senco E-catalogue is brand owned by Senco Gold Limited (‘the Company’) having a legacy of over eight decades. The company was originally incorporated as Senco Gold Private Limited on August 22, 1994, at Kolkata, West Bengal, under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1956.
Later, In order to expand its activities in the field of manufacturing & retailing of Gems & jewellery business, the company was converted to a public limited company in Aug 2007 with names as Senco Gold Limited.
Subsequently, pursuant to a resolution passed at a meeting of the Board of Directors held on June 27, 2007, and a special resolution of the shareholders at the EGM held on August 8, 2007, the name of the company was changed to Senco Gold Limited, resulting in its conversion into a public limited company. A fresh certificate of incorporation dated August 31, 2007, consequent to the change of name, was issued by the RoC. The company was converted to a public limited company in order to expand its activities in the field of jewellery business.
The Visionaries
Our Founder Chairman and Managing Director Shri Shaankar Sen holded a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Calcutta. He was associated with the Company since its inception and had over 40 years of experience in the jewellery industry. Prior to joining the company, he was associated with Senco Jewellery Mart. He had being conferred with various awards including the “GJTCI Excellence Awards” by the Gem and Jewellery Trade Council of India in 2016.
Shri Suvankar Sen, aged 38 years, is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Senco Gold & Diamonds. He holds a bachelor’s degree of science in economics from the University of Calcutta. He also holds a post-graduate diploma in business management from the Institute of Management & Technology, Ghaziabad. He has been associated with the Company since 2005 and has over 15 years of experience in the jewellery industry. He has been awarded the “XIA Business Leader of The Year 2018” by SXC Calcutta Alumni Association, South Chapter.
With the culmination of their rich experience, combined with a dynamic approach towards business, Senco Gold & Diamonds continued it’s sustained growth, year upon year. From INR 15,315.19 million in the fiscal year 2016, the revenue grew to INR 26,190 million in the fiscal year 2021. Presently the company has its presence across 14 Indian states, having over 115+ showrooms.
